By Stan , April 7 in News. Blizzard made some improvements to the matchmaking system in Warcraft III Reforged and allowed a wider band between the lowest value and the highest track values and the result is more accurate player skill representation. There is now a wider band between the lowest value and the highest tracked values. This allows for player skill to be more accurately represented, especially for very high skill players. Players in first and second will typically gain matchmaking rating while third and fourth will lose rating.
However, the players in second and third will receive notably smaller MMR changes than first and fourth, and it is possible for second place to lose MMR or third place to gain MMR depending on the disparity of MMR between players in the game. This change should help increase matchmaking accuracy for Free for All games.

Since the game is only having one game mode for multiplayer and only three races for launch. I would love to know if people think this is a good idea or bad idea since a lot of games these days have a ranked mode. Also if it went well, battlefy tournaments could be a thing. I would like a ranked mode, but I am not sure how well this is gonna work, as relic said that 3v3 should be their main mode. From what i have seen i feel like 2v2 hits the sweet spot between the map feeling a little empty 1v1 or it starts getting messy 3v3.
But i didnt play the beta, so 3v3 ranked also could be fine aswell. Though it seems like comparing DoW3 to SC2 is pretty taboo right now, I will say that it has ranked 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4. Obviously matchmaking team games isn’t ideal because of lack of communication, but I always had fun playing premades with my friends.

Get ready to sharpen your skills and perfect your strategies—Season 13 of Competitive Play has begun! Unlocked at level 25, Competitive Play is designed for those players who want to put their skills to the test, and offers a more serious experience than our Quick Play or Arcade Modes. Before you can kick off your competitive career, every player must first complete 10 placement matches to obtain their initial skill rating. This rating will be a number between 1 and , with higher values indicating a greater skill level.
Players will also be assigned a tier based on their rating—Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, or Grandmaster—and climbing into the next tier is possible as you improve. Skill ratings and tier icons will be visible at the beginning of every match. As you compete, your rating will increase or decrease with each win or loss based on a number of factors, including your own performance and the skill of the other players in the match. In addition to experiencing the thrill of victory, players can also unlock unique rewards through Competitive Play.
Anyone who completes their placement matches during a season will receive a special spray and player icon. Find more information below about getting Overwatch on your preferred platform.

So in 3v3 we’re in copper, and in 2v2 we’ve been ranked initially in copper, but have gone up to gold, pretty much imho because as a decent player I think I’ve pretty much carried us there But in gold, we’re pretty much getting steam rolled, game after game
